First of all - ta for the book.

Secondly - I tend to agree with your sentiments.  I got a bit tired of the first series and missed a couple of the later ones as I couldn't be bothered.  I tend to do that with tv series that look as though they are morphing into long-running soaps.  I get bored and switch off.  It was a shame.  Though the episodes were all very similar in basic plotline (set up scenario where Sam is dismayed at 70's policing and attitudes, solve crime through mixture of sam's modern ways, make arrest by way fo 70's policing) they had a great look, feel and I liked the humour.  If it is genuinely the last series, I'll watch it.</description>
