The quote is a cracker – “Don’t say I’m an East Stirlingshire supporter, because I’m not”.

I wouldn’t worry about it. They’ll never be relegated either. At least, not until the FA, the league, and the Junior FA see sense, and introduce a pyramid system that would send the likes of the East Stirlingshire tumbling out of sight tout suite.
Oh and – the Shire is where the hobbits live.

Somebody from work told me that their chairman had said that if they finished bottom of the league five times running, they would voluntarily drop out of the league. Meant as an incentive to their players, and also because he figures it’s no good for anyone to be whipping boys for that long, and they’d be better playing at the right level.
Maybe as the only supporter I know, you could confirm or deny that rumour?

I heard something similar, but ot that the chairman had said it but that they would be thrown out of the league. From what I know of the chairman I doubt he said it as an incentive to play well – he doesn’t seem to care how they do.
