College, what a waste of time, in the morning at least. One of the lectures was away fishing so we couldn’t use the machines, filing practice once again. The afternoon was a bit better, in that we had some work to do, although it was just making moulds for the vacuum former - not much to it but it gives you an appreciation of how it all works.

This evening I’ve been reading over my notes from my last placement (this section of foolfillment will in some ways replace these notes) in order to remind me of some classes - in particular the 4th year class I have drawn for my crit lesson. When I first arrived there I had some pretty worrying things to say like ‘I wouldn’t like my crit with this class’ but by the end of the four weeks they had changed in quite a few ways, much of it to do with a slight change of tack by their teacher, and they may have done enough to surprise me when I go back in a little under two weeks.

I still have a lot of other things to complete while I’m on my next placement:-

  • design a model suitable for 1st/2nd year incuding all gannt charts etc
  • construct a model suitable for submission at standard grade craft and design
  • carry out an assignment on (formative) assessment
  • carry out some marking of work at standard grade and the associated reflections and explanations of why each piece has been marked the way it has.

It doesn’t sound like much there, but I’m beginning to wonder when I’ll have time todo it all, alongside the all the teaching malarky.
