The Pope

4:05 pm on the 5th of April, 2005

So, an old man has died, it’s quite sad. But how much money is now being spent by people travelling to Rome; on security for the funeral; on the free water and red cross aid; how much money is lost by people taking time off work suddenly? How much money could instead be given to help the starving in Africa or those who were hit by the earthquake last week, or any other just cause.

So, instead of going to Vatican City to pay your respects, try doing something worthwhile.

I don’t want to get into a theological debate, I just want to say that I think the whole thing stinks, as the man himself will by the time the last ‘mourners’ get herded past him on Thursday.

PILLOWFIGHT!

Thanks to nytoo for pointing this out.

One Big Vote

One Big Vote
A big mock election thing, go on, vote, just for my interest if nothing else.

Some scientific research

As expected, a near perfect bell curve:
graph of work due against posts on blog

Not that I have anywhere to put it but:

And don’t even get me started on misplaced Zs

Let me decide! If you want me to read your website then don’t impose your browsing habits onto me. If you link to something then you’d better have a very good reaon for opening a new window. If I wanted a new window I’d have opened the link that way myself, I do have that option you know.
rightclick menu
If, like me you want more control over your browsing use Firefox and the Open Link in… plugin

Also, why would anyone disable the right button on a website? Only a useless twunt would do that, it doesn’t gain anything because everything can still be accessed throught the toolbar (everything except the open link in… plugin). Tool.

And stop saying ‘like’! If you feel the need to punctuate your sentences with, like, extra words then use, you know, good ones an’ tha’. You linguistically impoverished fool.

And before everyone forgets

As there are other things going onat the moment, I’ll get my tuppence worth in about this:

“These bloody people. I can’t bear that man. I mean, he’s so awful, he really is.”
Source: BBC NEWS

Good on him, why shouldn’t he be allowed to say what he thinks of them. If I were him I would have said it in a really loud whisper so that everybody heard straight off, and then ‘Oh dear, I hope nobody heard that’.

And, maybe I shouldn’t have quoted from the BBC, after all they’re cracking down on that sort of thing

The thing about the internet

8:58 am on the 1st of April, 2005

…is that it’s full of things that aren’t relevant to what I’m, supposed to be doing.
Except for this calendar but I can’t afford it. And it’s three months old, maybe next year. (it is on my wishlist though if you’re feeloing generous)

Anybody have information about Eero Aarnio and Mies van der Rohe’s choice of materials that they’d like to share with me, google scholar’s a bit useless because everything requires membership, and nothing so far accepts athens logins.
