GUVMA RODEO 2005
5:36 pm on the 25th of April, 2005Organised and run by the students of Glasgow University Veterinary Medical Association (GUVMA), the Rodeo has been an annual event of Glasgow University Veterinary School since the days of Buccleuch Street when it was a riding show. Since then the tradition has moved on to become the largest charity fundraiser associated with the University of Glasgow.
This year we will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Rodeo at the Garscube Estate which will be held on Saturday 30th April at the same location as last year, the Garscube Estate, home of the Veterinary School.
Last year’s rodeo was a a phenomenal success raising ?12,000 for various charities as well as entertaining, raising awareness of animal related issues and allowing participants a chance to get close to many different creatures ranging from horses to snakes. The day was spectacular with over 6000 visitors, twice the previous year with events including dog shows, falconry displays, reptile handling and a small mammal show.
