It’s got very straight edges - have you been cutting your earwax up with a knife?
If its bigger than that, I’m guessing a sponge, or maybe a bit of parmesan cheese. And end view of a bit of dowling would be just a bit to predictable.

hard to say - its very close up. How big is it?

It’s about 3/4” sq which I think rules out ear wax.
And it isn’t a sponge, cheese or dowel, it is however an end view of something.
