foolfillment: the blog

Stupid people. grr

6:23 pm on the 13th of March, 2005

‘March 13th’! What a stupid way of putting it, the default setting for the dates in Wordpress (now altered on foolfillment) is the stupid (American?) format that makes it look like you’re talking about the 13th March of 2005. Why are so many people so happy just to accept things that are incorrect because they often see them like that.

Maybe you don’t get what I’m saying, maybe I’m the stupid one, but look at my argument:

‘March the 13th’. Taken to mean the thirteenth day of March. Should really be ‘13th of March’
‘Henry the 8th’. Was the eighth King of England to have the name Henry. Henry the 8th wasn’t the eighth part of King Henry.

Now, go forth and and write what you mean, and anger me no more

    That’s Americans for you.

They take a culture, integrate it into their own, bastardise the language and change the spelling of all the words.
