What a weekend
4:51 pm on the 13th of June, 2004A little late to suggest it but a particularly good way to spend a Saturday in June was watching Belle and Sebastian and friends at the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow yesterday. They were in fine form on a glorious day which saw me and many others end up with an interesting sunburn. Notable moments included
- Monica Queen turning up to perform Lazy Line Painter Jane
- Poor Mick Cooke playing a transparent guitar, as if he wasn’t looking uncomfortable enough on stage already!
- the dancing woman in the purple top during the support acts
- Stuart Murdoch forgetting the words all the way through The Model
So that was yesterday, not a sign of Euro 2004 in sight sadly but I’ll make up for that today along with more angry letters to O2 and ordering a new Orange phone

There were thousands of people there; a lot of townies and a few old biddies but not many neds, although there was evidence of buckie. Another guy who was there was I’m sure the same guy who was at the Usher Hall when we saw them there in 2002 who demanded inbetween every song that they play ‘Moa-dern Roa-ck Shong’
