I’m intending to avoid it this year, tho that may partly depend on ‘er indoors.
But one bit I am intending to watch is the programme they’re running on Friday of the best (or worst) failed application videos. the desperation of some people is scary. I submit that this programme is detachable from the whole idea. A couple of years back, they called the police after one teenager staged the faked murder of his parents - it wasn’t clear from his application it was a fake! - while another guy did the whole five minutes on a pogo stick, naked except, if memory serves, for a mask and a sock.
Like I say, I expect it to be pretty separate from the rest of it, and very very worrying…
