Some cans of Miller lurking at the back there? Ready for use when he hits the winning goal tonite no doubt.

What is missing is the shelf above, with bottles of white wine cooling.

Veering back to the football, as I tend to, you can get 7/1 on Scotland tonite. That's a record. And as of last night, their only takers were Danish based. Says it all.

just out of interest how did you know they were miller? and do you really expect him to hit a goal, let alone a winning one?

the wine tends to get kept in the other fridge in the lounge but I don't drink much of that although I am learning.

I saw those odds and that nobody had taken them except Danes, gives me the impression you were reading the Metro today.

How did I know they were Miller? Shall we say an educated guess?

As far as my football comment goes, I suggest you look up flippancy in the dictionary. :-P

Yes, I think you should. It is a Tuesday after all.

Incidentally, I've been meaning to ask. A little off-topic, and also a little late, given that it has now sold out, but are you partaking of T and the Pixies in July?

Fraid not, it seemed an awful lot of money for one band who split ten years ago and a whole load of bands who I know are bad and some bands who I don't know at all. Are you going?

A festval in Europe would be nice, got any ideas?

Course I'm going. I knew I was going the day I heard the Pixies were playing.

And please, put names to the bands you 'know are bad' and the ones you don't know at all.
Bowie?
Strokes?
PJ Harvey?
Snow Patrol?
Chemical Brothers?
Franz Ferdinand?

Besides, music is only one part of a festival.

Bowie - not a band

Strokes - i don't really care, liked them for a while though

PJ Harvey - don't know, don't much care to be honest

Snow Patrol - an exception, there's one to every rule

Chemical Brothers - don't like on the whole, some ok tunes

Franz Ferdinand - don't know

The Libertines - definitely not

Scissor Sisters - don't know, but not heard good things

Ocean Colour Scene, Black Eyed Peas, Wu Tang Klan, Basement Jaxx, do I have to go on?

Bowie - not a band, but a legend. In his own right.

Strokes - well I'd have them 2nd on the Bill to the Pixies, but hey. They had they're own we zeitgeist cool for a while, but the 2nd album isn't as bad as I thought it would be, there's signs they could build on it.

PJ Harvey - You don't care? I give up. I'm not her greatest fan by any manner of means, but I'd rather watch her than many others.

Franz Ferdinand - you're being decidedly elitist here wee bro. I can tell now that when you hearthe album, it'll be 'nose in the air' and 'i just don't see it'. They aren;t the greatest band going, or even the greatest Scottish band going, but when last did a Scottish band get so much hype? And deserve some of it? (That rules out Texas) And play a Scottish festival? It will be, I'm afraid, hailed as a defining moment. I'm afraid it'll be compared to when Texas played, or something horrible like that. But it should be good.

Snow Patrol/Chemical Brothers/Strokes/Massive Attack - the great dilemma is which clsoing act to see on Sunday. You see that's the beauty of festivals. 4 stages (or is it 5?) Don't like Ocean Colour Scene. Quite right. They're on stage 4. Go see someone-else.

As I say, I'm going for the Pixies. My top five bands of all time - New Order, The Pixies, The Stone Roses, the Smiths and either the Beatles or Talking Heads. And Bowie probably comes in at 7, he's definitely top 10. But the whole festival line-up is cracking. Sure, I'd re-arrange it to suit me. The clsoing Sunday line-up is a real dilemma (tho as I'll be at the main stage for the Pixies, the decision is probably the Strokes). But it's as good as I've seen in a long while.
