(I know you've moved out of your flat in Edinburgh, but until you tell us the name, date of birth, hair and eye colour and mother's maiden name of the people renting the flat of the new owners, you must continue paying the electricity). Outcome - went to Energywatch, problem solved and ?60 compensation. Now it's Halifax (HBOS). We have a fixed rate mortgage. So why did the recent interest rate rise mean a ?10 a month rise in payments? We will have the answer in a week. (That's what I've been told three times in the space of 4 weeks). They have till Friday before the official letter of complaint goes in. And 14 days after that the ombudsman is brought in. battles with corporate bodies seem to be common place just now.
