Face Melting!
3:03 pm on the 10th of February, 2004I went to see this last night, the first film I’ve seen in ages. It was really good and even if you think you despise Jack Black I would still say you should see it because, well, because I liked it. OK, so it’s not the best arguement but I’m not a film critic. It had a few good jokes, some good other funny bits, a decent story and wisely side-stepped the possibility of a romantic involvement.
I still haven’t seen Touching the Void though.

Well you should see Touching the Void. I’d also recommend Big Fish and Lost in Translation. Particularly Lost In Translation. How can you argue with a film that puts MBV and JAMC on the soundtrack?
I’m going to see the Dreamers tonite. I’ll give you my thoughts tomoro.

The Dreamers. Hmmm.
At times it was excellent. Really clever and still sticking in my mind. At times it was close to porn. Which I suppose makes it close to the art-lads perfect film, if there is such a thing as an art-lad.
One thing I would say though. If you’re going with your girlfriend/wife, make sure they suggest it. If it’s your idea, you’ll be accused of only wanting to see it for one reason. (Fortunately, for us it was a 2nd or 3rd choice. We wanted the cinema, and had seen most of what we fancied. )
