I didn’t see it, but I won’t fault you in your dedication to poor daytime soaps. In my time I was an avid admirer of this sort of dross, to the extent that a large amount of my memory is taken up by that sort of useless drivel.

Indeed, when I switched t on when I was off last week, I noticed that Harolds grand-daughter is in it. I remember, with a tinge of nostalgia, when Kerry and Joe Mangel had their child, before Kerry was tragically killed while protesting against hunting.

At the same time, I can barely remember anything about what I studied at university. Isn’t that peculiar?

Oddly, I saw Sky’s returns too. I was in early. And had the same twinge of nostalgia. I couldn’t remember what she was doing, but I do remember a cringeworthy tree-planting ceremony in Kerry’s memory.

I was also pleased to notice that, in a rare bid for continuity, the Sky of today could actually pass for Kerry’s daughter, in a certain light.

Incidentally, have you nticed that Paul Robinson has turned up in River City?? Fantastic!

No! Please tell me he’s playing the same character. I’ve always wanted that to happen. Inter-soap transfers. It would be, by soap opera standards, fantastic. Think about it. An affair happens in Liverpool on Brookside, one of them flees to London, and the pursuit/aftermath is shown on Eastenders.

I never watch soaps these days, but it would liven it up. You could have a bigamy story, with the husband in Corrie at the weekends, then heading to London and Eastenders to his other wife during the week. You have to admit, it has potential…
