foolfillment: the blog

time to flit?

5:34 pm on the 23rd of July, 2003

trends among bloggers come and go as quickly as cabinet scapegoats and the current one that is doing the rounds since I’ve been away is shutting up shop. Since we went to start work at the crown (don’t go there its a dive - we only lasted two days, more of that later) not.so.soft had been in hiding for a couple of weeks and when I went to catch up with everything the other day for the first time since our quick holiday in Aberfeldy I find out that little red boat had sunk, pickle had moved his jar elsewhere and graybo seems to have disappeared of the face of the earth. It was even happening outwith the authors real control in d4d’s case

Is nothing safe in this world I thought as I had one last look at not so soft to find that meg was back, kind of, at meish.org. just as well too.

So what do I do? maybe it’s time stuart’s weblog had a proper name and a new domain? Nah, that would just be following another trend like having a wishlist or geoURL or blogrolling audi olympics or something and I wouldn’t want to do that now would I?

How about starting a trend? You could come up with some suggestions, have a poll, and see what wins.

My suggestions - well it’s not my site. You could do it like BIg brother. Pick ten random guests, give them access rights, and let the other guests vote them off each week. Set them tasks and the like. As a BB devotee, I know you’d like that….. :-)
And is it not time you allowed smilies???

Besides there are other bloggers out there. There wa a story the other week on the bbc website about how a couple of MP’s have blogs (maybe this is why every one went away)and one of them had a ‘youth’ page which was proving very popular.

I see you’ve changed the layout

What’s wrong with blogrolling Audi Olympics?

I feel very sad when things move on and blogs come to an end. Soon, we’ll be talking about little red boat and graybo and troubled diva and so on like some of us talk about 80s pop. There’ll be some great new blogs, but somehow it just won’t be the same.
