new design?

9:30 pm on the 19th of May, 2003

As part of a campaign for people to stop using ie and swap to mozilla:

For a limited time only ‘Stuart’s Weblog’ will be presented in [marquee] tags. Objections can be posted here.

It’s staying like this untill I get 20 different objections.
unfortunately mozilla users won’t be able to take advantage of this feature - for those people i present to you : [blink]

I think your new stlye of web site is great and you should keep it like this! Stuart McItyre

You do what you like. It makes me a bit sick though, and in my defence, I would say that as I do most of my “surfing” at work, I don’t get a choice of browser, conscious as my work are of not allowing us to download whatever the hell we like.

By the way, is that Stuart above the Stuart who Stuart will be sharing with? Or the other Stuart? Or just an entirely unconnected Stuart?

the stuart above is the stuart stuart will be sharing with, not the other stuart or indeed the other other stuart or the other other other stuart either.

i think 20 comments is a bit much to expect so i’ll leave it till tomorrow.

t’will be quet here for a while - first exam in a week today.

I concur with Lordy. It scrolls across the screen, and doesn’t stop till you click on reply. Put it back now, or I’ll stop visiting it!!!

Oooh, I never threatened to leave. I’m like small-town folk. I’ll complain about the place, but I’ll never consider deserting it.

Ha ha! For a moment I thought you had succumbed to some sort of a hideous page transition like this one. Now I realise you’ve taken the unprecedented and hilarious step of including your entire site in the proprietary marquee tag.

Now I’m not sure if you can include my comment as a complaint, but I would echo what your brothers have said above. Which is to say that a certain amount of web surfers will have absolutely no control over which browser they use, since such decisions are made by their network administrator.

And in the case of my not-so-net-savvy wife, as far as she’s concerned the Internet IS that little blue ‘e’ for explorer icon. She probably doesn’t even know what a browser is and certainly wouldn’t dream of downloading a different one because Stuart’s weblog scrolls across the screen in the one she uses. ;) More likely she would think the site a little strange and go on her way.

I think it’s pretty funny though.
