It’s Arrived!

1:32 pm on the 28th of March, 2003
Can you cope with the challenges of the league and the expectations of the board? Can you deal with the demands players or agents? Or will you collapse under the pressure, another mid-season casualty?

‘It’s’, apparently, ‘the most important game of your life’, and I’d have to agree.

Even if it is a bit sluggish my machine on my machine.
‘It’s the most CPU intensive game of your life’.

Still good though, currently sitting second int the SPL with a game in hand over leaders Livingston. It’s pretty realistic, Rangers have debts that won’t be repaid till 2021 and I have to cut their wage bill by ?70k p/w.

Not found any spectacular players yet, Mrak Kerr and Willie Howie, look pretty average unfortunately, but I’m sure some will unearth themselves. Steven Thompson has scored a fair few so far.

Anybody else got it yet?

A pledge we shold all make

For all of you who’ve not managed to keep your New Year’s Resolutions, sorehead has come up with a new one you could try. Sorehead : Statement

You know it’s time to become a hermit when…

5:35 pm on the 27th of March, 2003
  1. you hear a bird singing a ring tone
  2. you see an old episode of Neighbours and straight away know ‘this is the one where Cheryl dies’
  3. you post to your weblog about how long you’ve been waiting for a computer game to be released
  4. people just wave to you instead of stopping to chat when you meet them out walking the dog because they’re talking down their phone
  5. you find a website that sells surplus nuclear submarines
  6. you find yourself writing on your website about ways technology has taken over your life

It’s Coming!

Your Amazon.co.uk order has shipped

We thought you would like to know that the following item has been
sent using Royal Mail (1-2 business days).

Championship Manager 4

Cool.
About time though.
And I suppose everybody else will have their copies soon as well?

Further delays possible due to:

  1. it not fitting through the letter box and the postie taking it away.
  2. it not coming till Saturday when I’m going down to see Robert and Becky for the weekeng.
  3. Unexpected attack on Post Office HQ by anti-war movement who realise that delaying this game any longer will annoy the British Public more than anything else they could do and therefore get people listening

whaddya think?

I’m in the process of redesigning my Mum’s current site. So while there’s not much content at the moment the bones of it are there and I need other peoples opinions.

It looks as I want it too in mozilla and ie6. (I haven’t checked in opera but then does it really matter for a vet’s site?) but it does funny thngs in IE5 that I’m not sure how to solve.

IE5 seems to make borders eat in to the divs where most other browsers expand out, also the image in the banner at the top refuses to completely right align.

Another wee thing I don’t understand is that mozilla seems to add in an extra lines worth of padding to each division pushing the text down a bit, I think it looks better like that but it’s out of my control and doesn’t happen in ie5 or ie6, is there a vertical align command in css that I could use to make it render like that in every browser?

surely it’s not true

Term 2 is now over at last, so now I have a month off before a few more weeks of lectures and then exams. So along with sorting out my code I’ve been clearing out my room ready for moving back home for Easter. I seem to have accumulated a lot of stuff over this term and I’m sure my clothes have been breeding (although I never have enough socks?) so I’m just hoping that it’ll all fit in the car tomorrow otherwise I’m a bit stuck.

So, what do I do for four weeks untill I come back? I’d like to get some work but don’t know what. Any offers, I can follow instructions and I’m toilet trained.

some thoughts

12:22 pm on the 21st of March, 2003

I feel like writing today but can’t think what to say. Here are some thoughts I’ve had today that may or not be expanded upon later.

  • I need to sort out this page to make it XHTML compliant, right now it’s a mess
  • last day of term today
  • I have to clear up my room today so I can move back home tomorrow
  • Calcutta Cup tomorrow, preparing for another drubbing
  • Dirty cheating Celtic got through yesterday
  • What do you do when there’s someone you talk to regularly but you don’t know their name
  • stupid IT baseline test was today
  • what’s the plural of walrus?

Feel free to express your thoughts to save me from doing so, or maybe to spur me on to adding my opinions

a new ‘must read’

There are a lot of things happening right now, the BBC’s log of events is something I’ll be reading often in the days/weeks/months to come.
BBC NEWS | World | Reporters’ Log: At war in Iraq
