BBC NEWS | Scotland | Gags a go-go in Glasgow

It seems Glasgow are trying to start their own festival, great. It just seems to me like it’ll only serve to take away people from the Edinburgh one but it probaly won’t get as well established which is a bad thing because Scotland would end up with two gash festivals that have nothing worth going to, except people will still go to them.

And they’ll go just to clog up my streets when I’m in Glasgow during term (but with nothing worth me going to) and then clog up Edinburgh’s streets during August when I’m most likely to be anywhere near there (again with nothing good to see anymore).

Or am I being too cynical?

No, you’re not. I don’t think so anyway.

Glasgows one will never get as well known as Edinburgh’s. I don’t know - I suppose it won’t do it much harm either. I can’t see people putting off a trip to Edinburgh festival in favour of Glasgows.
