9:28 pm on the 10th of December, 2002A place for you to say hello.
A place for you to say hello.
I need to raise ?100 in sponsorship to do this for cancer research. If anyone wants to sponsor me then let me know. I don’t have the pack yet, I only sent off for it today.
…but an enjoyable one.
I went to Edinburgh today to do the rest of my Christmas shooping and to go to the winter wonderland (sponsored by the gilded ballon theatre - but for how long after this?)
In the end I didn’t buy anything for anyone but instead met my eldest brother and his fiancee for a drink then wandered around the stalls before going for a meal with my middle brother and his wife (thank you again BTW, nice pub - what was it called? good meal and nice restaurant - much more than we’d expected/deserved, you’ll have to come through some time for a meal at halls!).
After that we just wandered around the ice rink eating candyfloss and doing all the things I never did enough of when the shows came to town when I was still wee. Much much better than Glasgow’s pathetic effort. I still think everyone’s lights are far too tame and not nearly gaudy enough, it should be like Dunbar High Street every where (except Haddington and Tranent and especially not North Berwick.)
Actually, no. It shouldn’t be like Dunbar everywhere, that would be rubbish, Dunbar’s lights should be the allowed to be the gaudiest most anticipated light show in the world, better than the Blackpool Illuminations. But still everywhere else should just be a bit more flashy, a bit like it’s trying to be Vegas but secretly knows it’ll never pull it off, I think the word I’m looking for is tacky. Something like that house at the end of Milton Road in Edinburgh but at every house.
(do you know the house I mean? I can’t find anything about it on google, if anyone else can stick it up, I want to see some photos)
I didn’t hear this on the radio yesterday. Don’t the BBC usually have little soundbites to listen to on stories like this? Was it anything like Jim McLean hitting John Barnes a wee while back?

A coconut for the first person to guess what calendar it is.
come on dad, you must be able to explain…
NEWS.scotsman.com - Top Stories - Rock keeps ice-cream cool
They used pressurised gas to trap the sound inside a mechanism which, unlike traditional loudspeakers, allows the sound to operate at one pitch instead of across the range of frequencies needed for musical tunes
It still produces sound waves so surely that means that it would create heat, as the air particles move about there will be friction with the ice cream, how could it possibly have a cooling effect?
Just on the eve of on Old Firm game weekend we get this news story that we haven’t heard about since the last game. It makes me wonder just how much Jack McConnell and all the other politicians actually think they can do to fix the problems or how much they’re doing it to win votes
The same day we also get this story in The Herald about the unionjackshop.com website, this page in particular.
i’ve not been here for ths last week or so because i instaled xp on my pc last monday and it decided it didn’t like the unis’s network connection, oh well. it’s sorted now, like my room, i’m back there after a week in my palace.
wow
isn’t it exciting? only 22 days 8 hours to go ( you can watch a proper countdown here)
What did everyone get today and yesterday? i got rudolf yesterday and a candle today. i’m taking bets on tomorrows, just email me. i’ll give you 7-1 on a snowman and 3-1 on a star. any other guesses and i’ll get straight back to you.
Could be a nice little earner this…
I could take a pound off every reader of this silly little page and give a prize to the first person to guess what calendar i have, (prize decreasing every day when i tell you what i get of course)
