I didn’t recognise it as one of his because it doesn’t have the usual type of cover.

shouldn’t you have asked this before you handed over good money for it? After all, you’ve bought it now, so I assume you’re going to read it, even if you got 300 responses of ‘NO, IT’s AWFUL!’.
For the record, I don’t know, as I’m waiting for the paperback.
